Twelve rooms distributed across a hillside site in the Serra da Mantiqueira. The hotel was conceived as a village of small stone and timber structures that settle into the landscape rather than impose on it.
Each room is a self-contained pavilion with a private garden, connected to the main lodge by covered walkways. The main lodge contains a restaurant, library, and a thermal pool fed by a natural spring on the property.
Local quartzite stone was used for the retaining walls and floor finishes. The retaining walls are built entirely dry, without mortar — the traditional technique that allows water to percolate through rather than build hydrostatic pressure behind the face.
The project was developed in close collaboration with local craftspeople and uses no imported materials.
